Technology Overview
GORE-TEX
At the core of GORE-TEX technology is an extremely thin membrane that’s durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable. It has over nine billion pores per square inch. Each pore is 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than water vapor — or sweat. This means that rain is kept out while perspiration vaporizes, so you’ll stay dry no matter what.

Warmer than they look
They are warmer than expected, considering the dexterity and relatively thin construction. They do a great job of blocking the wind. They are comfortable for me between about 40 and 55F. I haven't yet tried them in rain, so can't speak to the water repellent characteristics. I was on the border between sizes on the size chart, and had to exchange for the larger size to be able to fit into them.
They will work
I actually bought these gloves for a hiking trip to Machu Picchu in October but I have tried them out. So far they have proven rainproof but as stated by others they are not cold weather gloves. They have kept my hands dry while wringing out sopping wet towels. My major complaint would be that I have tiny hands so even though I got the small size, the fingers are too long for my fingers. They seem to be well made but I haven’t had long enough to judge.

Finally I Found Them
I’ve tried various brands and styles of those brands to find a waterproof glove that was slim and comfortable, but also overall usable.
I wear these walking my dog and am able to pull, open, and use a dog poop bag in the weather while my hands remain dry inside. This in the wind, rain, and snow.

Gore-Tex gloves
I bought these for biking in cold, I also found they work fine for skydiving in the cold. Waterproof also means wind proof.
There’s a lot of wind when skydiving or biking. These kept me warm in both sports. Size is a hair small, but large works for me since I need to be able to feel controls.
