"Building on the success of our award-winning R5 WINDSTOPPER® Insulated Jacket, we’ve taken winter running shells to the next level - combining high-performance design solutions with GORE's new eco-conscious material innovation to keep you moving comfortably, even in the coldest conditions."

Michael Jean-Jacques - Product Line Manager at GOREWEAR

The result is the new CONCURVE WINDSTOPPER® Insulated Line—our warmest and most adaptable collection yet. Designed for runners who don’t stop when the temperature drops, the line includes a jacket (with and without a hood) and a vest. All styles are available in both men's and women's fits. With its advanced weather protection, adaptive warmth, and lightweight comfort, the CONCURVE WINDSTOPPER® Insulated Line lets you perform at your best—while ensuring you never leave your comfort zone.

We sat down with the GOREWEAR Product Team to learn more about the innovations behind this evolution in cold-weather running gear.

What’s new in this collection?

Most notably, it's the first time we’re using the new WINDSTOPPER® ePE laminate by GORE-TEX LABS in a high-aerobic activity like running. It’s PFC-free, fully windproof, breathable, and has a lower environmental impact.

We also completely rethought the layering concept. Instead of the traditional setup, we moved the membrane to the inside, added insulation in the middle, and finished it with an air-permeable woven outer layer. This structure creates a unique adaptive warmth system.

How does the adaptive warmth system work?

It’s all about airflow and breathability. We paired PrimaLoft® Active Evolve insulation with a highly air-permeable woven outer layer.

Here’s how it works: the faster you run, the more air flows through the outer layer, refreshing the air buffered in the insulation and helping prevent overheating. When you slow down, airflow decreases, and the insulation retains more warmth—helping you stay warm at lower intensity or during rest. The insulation level effectively adapts to your pace so that you never leave your comfort zone.

Can the jacket handle light rain or snow?

Absolutely. The internal membrane is water-resistant, and the insulation still performs when damp. The outer fabric also features a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating. So yes—this jacket will keep you comfortable even in light snow or drizzle.

Why did you add a vest to the line?

Runners have different needs depending on the weather and intensity. The vest is ideal for milder days when you still want core warmth without full arm coverage. It also works well for high-intensity runs on colder days. The vest adds flexibility and rounds out the collection for different preferences.

Why PrimaLoft® Active Evolve insulation?

Evolve is especially suited for high-output activities like running. It delivers excellent breathability and moisture managementh. During activity, excess heat and moisture escape easily. At rest, it provides lightweight warmth.

Plus, it’s sustainable: the insulation is made with up to 100% post-consumer recycled content.

How’s the freedom of movement?

That was a must-have. All CONCURVE pieces use kinetic garment design to ensure unrestricted movement. Whether you're doing intervals or easy miles, the jacket moves with you—not against you.

Any subtle design elements worth noting?

Definitely. We refined the cuffs and neckline for a closer, more comfortable fit. The minimal, clean design means the pieces look great beyond just the run, with a broader color palette that adds lifestyle appeal. Reflective elements are subtly integrated beneath the translucent shell—only visible when catching light—keeping the look sleek for everyday wear. Even the zippers and stretch elements are made from recycled materials, because performance and sustainability should go hand in hand.

And this jacket already won an ISPO Award?

Yes! We’re proud that the CONCURVE WINDSTOPPER Insulated Jacket received the ISPO Award 2024. It’s an amazing validation of the innovation and dedication that went into this line.
