BACK IN 1985 WHEN IT ALL STARTED

It‘s 1985: We‘re in the Alps and in the unpredictable weather conditions that entails. A couple of cycling enthusiasts, who are also committed engineers, have just returned from another freezing cold and wet ride with a strong conviction: there has to be a better way than using old newspaper as protection from the elements!
This is why the first GORE-TEX cycling jacket – the GIRO jacket – has been designed.
