After finishing his pro career, Björndalen was interested in working with an apparel brand that would meet his extremely high expectations on quality. “I was talking to Svein Ivar Moen, my long-time service man who is working at Madshus nowadays, and he told me that the new GORE® Wear XC ski apparel sets new standards in functionality and quality.”

During her pro career, Darya showed a passion for apparel, designing product and selling it online. "I’ve always liked creating ideas and bringing the world of design and functional apparel together. So working with the design and product team at GORE® Wear is a perfect match for me."


For the 2018/2019 winter season, Ole Einar Björndalen and his wife Darya Domracheva are cooperating with GORE® Wear as consultant and product testers. With eight olympic gold medals, Ole Einar Björndalen is one of the most successful Olympic athletes of all times. Darya Domracheva has won 4 olympic gold medals.

And while being protected against wind chill and cold, the fabric must allow enough breathability and ventilation to avoid overheating. So it was crucial to give it a practical try and listen to athletes feedback.“
