GORE-TEX

Delivering maximum comfort and protection in a wide range of activities and weather conditions, garments made with GORE-TEX fabric are durably waterproof, windproof and very breathable.
Even if the rain is pouring and you’re sweating our apparel keeps you dry. Guaranteed. This may sound impossible but in the GORE-TEX fabric there are billions of tiny pores that are 20,000 times smaller than a water drop but 700 times larger than water vapor. Rain is kept out while perspiration vaporizes, meaning you’ll stay dry no matter what. Nothing to it really, just cutting edge science.

Product Reviews
GORE® C3 GORE-TEX® Socks is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these. I've had these for a few months, and use them for running, not cycling. They're outstanding, today ran through sloppy snow and sections of ice cold water ~ 4-6" deep. While my shoes got wet, my feet could feel the chill around them but remained bone dry, which makes a ton of difference. I would buy them to fit snugly, as they're "original" Gore-Tex so the stretch is minimal; the first time I wore them I didn't dress properly around them and had some discomfort. Now I typically wear an ultra-think anklet underneath the Gore socks. I'd be really interested if future versions might find a way to incorporate stretch Gore yet still retain much of the waterproofing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good fit I have trouble with circulation on one of my ankles so a seamstress removed the stretch material that goes around the top of each sock. This had nothing to do with the quality of the sock itself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not waterproof The concept is great, but the seams are not waterproof. When they first arrived, I tested them by standing in 6" of water in my bathtub. My feet got wet in about 20 seconds. To figure out where the leak was, I turned them inside out, and filled them with water (simulating water ingress). Water steadily dripped through the seams on both the toes and the heals. What is the point of a waterproof fabric if water pours in through the seams? I ordered a second pair, to see if the first ones were defective, but the exact same thing happened. Good thing I tried them at home first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good alternative to overboots. I've had a pair of these for a couple of years, they do a great job of keeping my feet dry. I generally wear them under my shoes that are a little looser and synthetic leather with mesh, I like that I can tromp around and not worry about wearing out overboots. On the first big rain there seemed to be some seepage at the seams, so I applied seam sealant, and things seem to work well. As the weather gets colder/warmer, I simply layer with thicker or thinner socks as appropriate; I wear them in cold weather even when it's dry out to keep my feet warm. At first they were a little difficult to get on/off, but after about 10x they loosen up sufficiently and are easy to get on/off, and the waterproofness hasn't been compromised in the process. Overall, a great product, I'd recommend as an alternative to overboots, especially in terms of being able to walk around without worrying about wearing out soles of overboot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great for outdoors Have owned other goretex socks & wanted a new pair; was a little disappointed that they weren't lined like my previous ones but they're still great for keeping your feet dry. Worth the cost.
