Rated 5 out of 5 by Robert from Best running jacket I bought an earlier version of this jacket almost three years and I can easily say it is the best running jacket for rain and wind that I've ever seen or owned. It is incredibly lightweight. You will barely know it is there. Love having a breast pocket and the hood easily fits over other hats if needed. I wore this for the 2018 Boston Marathon in horrendous conditions of rain/wind/cold and it worked like a charm with a Gore base layer shirt. Works just as well with a wide variety of layers. Would love to see this fabric move to shorts or running pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Richard57 from Brilliant addition to any running kit list I’ve had this about 12 months and it’s my go to top when it’s cold and wet (especially wet). I don’t sweat in it like other tops I’ve worn and it shields me from the wind. So why give it 4 stars? I found out you can’t wear a back pack with it so if I’m going to do any distance and want to wear a hydration pack, I have to go to a less effective option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ssaslow from Best Piece of Technical Gear I have Ever Owned My first impression was that this is a very expensive jacket. It also is cut smaller than most jackets I am used to. Having said that this is without a doubt the best piece of gear I have ever used. It is incredibly light and 100 waterproof. I ran a 16 miler in this with 2 base layers in 34 degrees. This jacket allowed me to use one less base layer because of the way it lets steam escape. Normally after these runs my base layers are wet. I was 100% dry with this jacket. The hood is awesome because its loose so it can easily go over other winter hats yet its one piece so it stops water from entering the neckline in back. Its so light and the fabric is extremely quiet. You wont even know you are wearing it. I am honestly looking forward to the rain. Initially I thought the size ran 2 small but after wearing it I think it pretty perfect. Its big enough to cover a few base layers and small enough that it would be fine with just a singlet. I normally wear a Med and that is what I ordered so I would suggest staying true to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Judy in Philly from Great prpoduct, but runs small Bought this for my marathon running husband. He really likes it, fits well, and kept him dry in a nasty twelve mile training run in cold, heavy rain. It does run small - I bought a medium (he normally wears a small in Gortex products), so be advised!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MVT from worth the price, yes! Bavarian Autumn's bring rain, wind and some early snow, during runs this jacket has performed perfectly as advertised. I have worn it in misting rains and been caught out in down pours while running everything from 5km-40km over roads, trails and up hills with no issues. If you live in a wet climate this jacket will not disappoint. As far as sizing goes, I am at the tail end of the medium size chart range, so I went up a size because the medium fit me tight and did not leave room for me to wear the Gore jacket over my running vest or have room to layer properly underneath it on colder days. Design/style negative, please add some additional colors and/or more reflective materials if possible in future models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TQ from One Gore-Tex Active Run Jacket I purchased this jacket recently and have run in steady rain on two separate occasions in New England. When I first wore the jacket, I just had a short-sleeve shirt underneath. I got about 10 minutes into my run and I felt myself start to heat up and I thought, "Oh no, I'm going to overheat in this jacket." But, very shortly after that, the internal heat load vented and I was cool, comfortable, and dry. The same kind of thing happened on my second run in the rain on a different day. I absolutely love this jacket! It does everything I want it to do and it is so lightweight. I am a male who is 6 feet tall and I weigh about 150 pounds and I have pretty long arms. The Medium fits perfectly. I am a little worried about the zippers as they seem like they may be a little fragile but as long as you take your time using them, they should be fine. I wish they had hand pockets and I wish the jacket was not so expensive but if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed! I hope the pants are available soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oslo Runner from Just amazing Running in Norway the weather can be at times very harsh. Upgrading my Gore Windstopper after years of wear and tear, I took my chances on the Gore Active. It proved to be one of the best choices I have done on running gear. So lightweight, durable and versetile you have to try it to believe it. Only drawback is the hood. Should be looked into. Still one the best jackets out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ford from First review in a long time First off, I am 6'1 170 and am in better than average shape for a 30 year old. I work out, run, and play golf as much as possible. I normally wear a medium but had read the reviews and knew I would at times be wearing long sleeve underneath. I bought this jacket to go play golf in Scotland. I emailed asking if the jacket would allow me to swing and was replied too that it was not designed for golf but could work by going up a size. I appreciated the honesty especially in making this kind of investment. I went with the large and can say that I have never been happier with a jacket. It is lite enough to carry and strong enough for any kind of weather. Wind and the rain never made it through this jacket and I was able to swing like I had nothing on. I know most will buy this for running but I was thrilled to have a jacket that I can use for all of my activities. I could not be more impressed!
